Abstract

Background: Hypertension is an incurable disease but must always be controlled or managed to avoid complications that can lead to death. A program that can be implemented is dietary obedience. Objective: aimed to find out the relationship between hypertension duration and dietary obedience in hypertensive elderly at Ngudi Saras Elderly Posyandu RW 09 Joglo Subdistrict. Method: The research method used is the quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The sample used in this study was 45 respondents. Result: The results of this study found the results of the Rank Spearman test obtained a p-value of 0.44 or p-value of < 0.05, there is a relationship between duration and dietary obedience in hypertensive elderly. The strength of the relationship between the two variables as indicated by the correlation coefficient value is 0.310, which means that the strength of the relationship between the variables is weak. This study can be used as a consideration in developing scientific knowledge and as a theoretical background in the field of nursing.
